Smiling at the cliff edge, eyes on the sky: begin with an open heart, but watch your step.

The Fool is the start of everything: the energy of someone ready to step out without knowing exactly what lies ahead, and open to it anyway. In a reading it often points to a new chapter, such as a new job, a move or a new relationship, and encourages you to try before you feel completely ready. “Foolish” here doesn’t mean unwise; it means a fresh mind that hasn’t yet been weighed down by fear or old experience. Just keep one eye on the ground: trust is good, but the cliff edge is real.
